During the Spring 2026 semester, Dra. Luedke, with the help of advisee Angelina, coordinated bi-weekly co-working sessions at various coffee shops throughout Chicago. Often meeting from 10 am to 3 pm, the groups of scholars begin the day by sharing what they are working on. Over the next few hours, they ask each other questions and offer support while catching up on each other’s lives and building relationships that extend beyond the academy.

These two higher ed professionals visited a different coffee shop in Chicago every week for a whole year! It was a fantastic way for Dra to explore her new city upon moving in 2023 to start her new position at the University of Illinois Chicago.
