Grounded in a commitment to racial equity and justice, UIC’s Center for Urban Education Leadership strengthened and expanded its portfolio of work to include leadership development in spaces beyond PreK-12 settings, including higher education, non-profits, and community organizations.

The Center will expand its portfolio of work in three areas:

  1. Leadership preparation and professional development
  2. Organizational leadership in PreK-12 schools and community organizations
  3. Leadership in higher education

Center activities for each area will focus on:

  • Professional Learning & Programs
  • Policy
  • Research
  • Evaluation
  • Consulting

As the work of the Center evolves, it will become a collaborative space for faculty to work together in these key areas.
